Central Accounting is a New Zealand-
owned and operated business founded by accountant Simon Clouston.
Simon has varied accounting and business experience across both commercial and primary sectors.
As a registered member of ATAINZ an IRD approved accounting body. Simon is a trusted tax and business advisor and has helped people manage their finances and achieve their goals for over 20 years. He has a strong focus on helping New Zealanders with their business development, budgeting, and taxation, and is passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for his clients.
Simon Clouston — Accountant & Director
Simon is originally from Omakau, where he was raised on a sheep and beef farm before moving to Ĺtepoti Dunedin to attain his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Otago. After returning to Omakau, he then owned and operated the farm for six years alongside his father.
When the farm was sold, he developed and ran a small business for several years. It was during his time as a small business owner that he also began his accounting career. As well as working as a farmer and small business owner, Simon also worked for a few years at ACC and has strong knowledge of ACC levies.
Outside of work, he enjoys reading science fiction and has been a keen sportsman for many years. He enjoys playing tennis, squash, and cricket and has recently become a new and enthusiastic member of table tennis and lawn bowls.
Helene Wylie

I grew up in Central Otago with a strong family background farming in the Hawea area. That rural upbringing has shaped both my values and work ethic and provided me with a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by Central Otago businesses. I have seen many changes across the Central Otago region across my time here and am focussed on bringing that knowledge and experience into my role.
Customer service is a key focus for me, and I take pride in working through complex challenges to achieve practical, positive outcomes for clients.
The beautiful Maniototo is now home for me, where I live with my partner Malcolm, who runs a beef and sheep farming operation. Outside of work, I am passionate about competing in equestrian events — a big part of what drives me both personally and professionally.
